As part of the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (NOCCI’s) commitment to achieve an inclusive, a resilient, and a sustainable economic growth in the province of Negros Oriental, NOCCI officers led by President Edward Du, together with Negros Oriental 1st District Board Member and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Ways and Means Chair Jessica Jane Villanueva, and NOCCI Executive Director John Jalandoni, met with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Deputy Director General for Southeast Asia Department Vinnie Wicklein to explore potential strategic and collaborative programs and projects that will foster social and economic development in the province.
ADB is a regional development bank based in Manila which was established to promote economic and social progress in Asia and the Pacific. It provides loans, grants, and technical assistance to its member countries for various development projects in areas such as infrastructure, health, education, and poverty alleviation. Thus, NOCCI, during the said meeting, aimed to forge partnership between the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental and the ADB to expand and sustain the local government’s programs and initiatives in agriculture, business, health and education sectors.
The meeting was held at Atmosphere Dive Resort in the municipality of Dauin.
