The Provincial Government of Negros Oriental through the Negros Oriental Investment Board and Center (NOIBC) and the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (LEDIP) Office, in collaboration with the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI) and the Negros Oriental Investment Promotions Center (NOIPC), conducted a two-day Project Management Planning Workshop for the Negros Oriental Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs) and Investment Promotions projects.
The two-day Project Management Planning Workshop was conducted to plot out the actionable steps to be undertaken by the PRDP Provincial Project Management and Implementation Unit (PPMIU) Negros Oriental to secure PRDP funding for the two (2) proposed FMR projects amounting to P1.2 billion. These two (2) proposed road projects were identified by the Provincial
Government through the PPMIU, so to link and provide access to the proposed flagship agri-industrial project of the province- the Tamlang Valley Sustainable Agriculture for Growth and Resiliency (TVSAGR) Project, which is poised to be the “food basket” in the Negros Island and the Visayas regions.
The activity was facilitated by NOCCI Executive Director and the province’s LEDIPO Designate and PRDP Focal Person, Mr. Juan Agustine Jalandoni. Present during the workshop were the heads of offices of the provincial government, spearheaded by Provincial Administrator and PPMIU Head, Atty. Arthur Fran Tolcidas, who, in lieu of Governor Manuel Sagarbarria, delivered a welcoming message to all the participants. Negros Oriental 3rd District Board Member and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Appropriations Committee Chair Kit Marc Adanza was also present and conveyed his full support for the said undertaking. NOCCI President Edward Du actively participated in the said workshop and also expressed his support for the initiative.
During the last day of the activity, NOCCI Executive Director Jalandoni commended all the participants and all the PPMIU members, for taking their time to actively partake in the planning workshop. In his Closing Remarks, Provincial Legal Officer and PPMIU Alternate Head, Atty. Bejar, also commended the team’s efforts in working and accomplishing their respective tasks at hand in order to realize the proposed PRDP road projects. He also expressed his full support for the PRDP PPMIU’s initiatives.

The TVSAGR Project is anticipated to become a key “food basket” for both Negros Island and the wider Visayas region.
