NOCCI President Hosts Media Luncheon, Discusses NIR and Business Success

Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI) President Edward Du hosted a luncheon meeting with the Dumaguete local media. During the said lunch meeting, NOCCI President Du expressed his gratitude to all the media men and women of Dumaguete City for their efforts in helping NOCCI promote its advocacies not just for the business community but for the entire province of Negros Oriental. President Du also thanked the media for disseminating the right information about the creation of Negros Island Region until its approval and signing into law by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on June 13, 2024.

When asked about the benefits of NIR, President Du emphasized that the creation of NIR will primarily promote the ease of doing business, particularly in the three provinces of Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, and Siquijor.

Your role in informing and educating the public about the creation of the Negros Island Region has been invaluable, and for that, we are truly grateful,” President Du stated.

When asked about the expected benefits of the newly created NIR, President Du highlighted that one of the primary advantages would be the promotion of the ease of doing business within the region. He noted that the NIR’s establishment would streamline bureaucratic processes and foster a more business-friendly environment, particularly in the provinces of Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, and Siquijor.

“The creation of NIR is a game-changer for our region. It will significantly improve the ease of doing business by consolidating resources, enhancing infrastructure, and providing more efficient services to entrepreneurs and investors alike. This regional integration will undoubtedly attract more business opportunities and investments, ultimately benefiting the local economy,” Du explained.
