As part of the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (NOCCI’s) commitment to help the government address the country’s looming rice crisis and food security, NOCCI initiated and proposed the Tamlang Valley Sustainable Agriculture for Growth and Resiliency (TVSAGR) Project, which aims to make Negros Oriental as the “Food Basket” in Central Visayas. During the Regional Development Council (RDC)-7 3rd Quarter Full Council Meeting held in Dumaguete City, NOCCI President and Negros Oriental Private Sector Representative Edward Du presented the TVSAGR Project Proposal to the RDC 7-Full Council, highlighting the project’s main target which is to boost the productivity and resilience of the region’s agriculture sector.
During the said meeting, the RDC-7 Full Council unanimously approved the proposed TVSAGR Project of NOCCI to be included in the Central Visayas Regional Development Investment Program (CVRDIP) 2023-2028. The newly-created Tamlang Valley Management Council members also took their oath of office before RDC-7 Chairman and Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado.

During the same meeting, the newly-formed Tamlang Valley Management Council members officially assumed their roles, taking their oath of office before RDC-7 Chairman and Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado. This council will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of the TVSAGR Project, ensuring its alignment with regional development goals and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
